netINS Internet Upgrade - Q&A
In the early morning of December 19th, Partner Communications Cooperative will change the company that provides our Internet backbone connection. This change will not require you to change your email address, but it will significantly improve the performance of all “partnercom.net” services, including email, spam and virus filtering and general Internet surfing.
Additionally, netINS will be handling our 24x7 FREE Internet Technical Support as of December 19th. They can be reached at 1-877-433-2606 effective on the 19th. The current tech support number will be redirected to this new number for a period of time after the conversion.
netINS, a pioneer in Internet services in the U.S. and one of the first local Internet providers in Iowa, will provide Partner customers quality Internet services including email, web browsing, spam and virus protection and FREE 24x7 Internet Technical Support. In short, netINS sets the standard for Internet services in Iowa and we are pleased to be able to make this upgrade.
Q: When will this take place?
A: The conversion to netINS will take place in the early morning hours on Wednesday, December 19th. The process will be completed with a minimal interruption in traffic during the night. After the initial conversion is complete, your email that is currently stored on the existing mail server will be transferred to our new servers. That process will be completed during the afternoon of December 19th.
Q: Who will be affected?
A: This change will affect all partnercom.net customers in all of our markets: Baxter, Gilman, Kellogg, Melbourne, Rhodes, State Center and other partnercom.net service areas.
Q: Will my email address change?
A: No, your email address will stay the same. Only the transport network to the Internet backbone will be redirected to “netINS” network.
Q: Will I need to make any adjustments after the conversion on the 19th of December?
A: Yes, you will need to make a minor, one-time change to your email settings following the conversion on the morning of December 19th. We sent all Internet users a new partnercom.net setup CD to assist you. These settings can be changed manually if you would prefer. For those general instructions, please click here.
