How the fiber construction process works

Step 1

Design and Approval

This step has already been completed for the fiber build. Our contractors, local city officials, and Partner Communications collaborated on the fiber path design and received approval from the county.

Step 2

Construction and Site Survey

Our construction crews begin the fiber build project by burying fiber along the roads throughout the project’s footprint.

What are the benefits of fiber?

FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) is the next-generation broadband network that can deliver telephone, high-bandwidth Internet, and TV services at speeds faster than what is provided by conventional coaxial cable or phone lines (DSL).

What is a site survey?
The first step before a fiber line can be buried to your home is a “site survey”. We will meet with you for around 20 minutes at a time that is convenient for you. We document any private utilities, such as drain tiles, private electric lines, dog fences, and decide where to bury the fiber to your home. We are currently scheduling site surveys for fiber drop installation to homes this spring, summer, and fall. This part of the process is very important to keep everything on schedule.
Who is responsible for this project?

Partner Communications owns, operates, and maintains the project.

When will construction occur?

We plan to start during the summer of 2025 with construction ongoing as permitted by weather.

What fees are involved in getting fiber hooked up to my home or business?
There are no fees to have the fiber buried to your home or business, no installation fees to connect to our service at time of installation, there are no contracts for our services.
What hours will the construction crews be working?
Construction work will take place on weekdays anytime from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. No work will be scheduled on major holidays or weekends.
How will I be affected by this construction?

Much of the construction will take place in right of ways, but in some cases it will also involve work on your personal property. This may require trenching, plowing or boring of portions of lawn or landscape, irrigation system, sidewalks and driveway areas. Partner Communications will fully restore the areas to their original condition within a determined period of time.

Who can I contact if I experience problems during the construction phase?

You may contact Partner Communications at 1-877-433-7701  during normal business hours to discuss any construction-related problems or concerns that may arise.

What are the FTTH requirements for the customer?
At each home the protectors (the gray box outside your home) will be replaced with a FTTH ONT (optical network terminal) that “Talks” to the fiber. Each ONT requires power and will be connected to your power provider.
What if I'm interested in connecting to Partner Communications' fiber services?

Please contact us and then we will contact you to schedule a site survey. There is no obligation to connect service if we bury a fiber line to your home. We look forward to adding you to our growing list of satisfied customers.
